Good evening, every one. My name is Jiang Mengliu. I feel so honored to be invited by Sara to share my English-learning experiences with you. I never thought about I would have an opportunity to do a short English speech in front of 500 people, but it truly happens today, though I only have 3 minutes.

各位晚上好,我叫江梦柳。非常荣幸受到Sara的邀请,能和大家分享自己学习英语的经验。我从未想过自己会有机会在500人面前做一个简短的全英语的分享,但2021-09-28 却发生了,尽管我只有3分钟。

To begin with, firstly let me ask all friends here a question – Have you been studying English for decades since you’re just a kid, but you always think your English was poor and junior? Honestly, I was just one of you. Back to my school period, my English score was okay, but I always lacked the confidence of using it. Because I worried that my grammar was incorrect, or my pronunciation was not native enough, I scared to use this language to do the communication with others. Are you in the s百思特网ame situation as me?

开始之前,我想问大家一个问题——“从小开始学英语的你,是否依然觉得自己的英语水平很糟糕很初级呢?”老实说,我对自己的评价也是这样的。我在学校时的英语成绩还可以,但是使用时候依然不够自信,总会担心我的语法是不是有错,发音是不是不够地道,我不敢用这门语言和其他人进行交流。你是否也有这样的担心和忧虑呢?

But, let's think in this way. If you're learning another language, like Japanese, French or Spanish, will you also be so shy? I know the answer is no for me. When I went to Paris, I can only remember two sentences of French, "Enchant. Je m'appelle Jiang Mengliu.", which means "Nice to meet you. My name is Jiangmengliu." But I was so excited that I finally have the chance to use the only sentences I knew.

但是,不如让我们换一个角度来想。如果你在学习另一门语言,比如说日语、法语、或西班牙语,你是否依然会如此地害羞?我知道我不会的。我在巴黎玩的时候,我仅能记住的法语只有两句:"Enchant. Je m'appelle Jiang Mengliu."这两句话的百思特网意思是,“你好,我的名字叫江梦柳。”但是我却会很兴奋,因为我终于有机会应用这两句自己学会的法语,尽管我只会那么两句。

We definitely know more English expression than French, right? Why don't we cheer up for ourselves? Why only when we grasp the perfect pronunciation, fluent expression, and precise grammar, can we start speaking the language? Not necessary at all!

我们会的英语表达必然多过法语,对不对?那为什么我们不再为自己而喝彩呢?为什么在学习英语时,我们会觉得必须拥有完美的发音,流百思特网利的表达,精准的语法,我们才能开始说这门语言呢?并不需要如此。

For myself, once I relieved myself(原创www.isoyu.com版权) from this burden on my shoulder, I find much joy and fun in my daily English learning. I started to read original books, though sometimes it took me months to finish one book, each time it's an achievement to myself. I raised my fist for myself. I joined Sara's Write or Out group and wrote two articles every month, and guess what, I think my Chinese writing skills can be applied in English writing as well. It's interesting and exciting.

就我自己来说,当我将这些心理额外的负担放下,我在每天的英语学习中收获了很多的欢乐。我开始阅读原版书,尽管有时候需要好几个月才能读完一本,但每一次我都会觉得这对自己来说是一个小小的成就,我会为自己比赞呐喊。我加入了WO对赌计划,每个月写两篇英语文章来倒逼自己,你猜怎么样?我特别高兴地发现原来中文的写作技巧完全可以迁移过来。

Little by little, I spent more time in Englist learning. It's not a task anymore. I gained joy and confidence in this process. And if I can do this, I think you can do this as well. What you need is very simple. Shake off the burden from your shoulder, and cheer for yourself for every little progress. Use it whenever it's possible. It should not be that hard. Let's get onto the journey.

现在,我每天花在英语学习上的时间更多了。但是这些对我来说不再是必须完成的任务了。在这个过程里,我收获到了进步的喜悦,做到的自信。如果我能做到这些,那我想你们也可以。而你们需要的,不过是将心头的重负放下,为自己的每一点进步而欢欣而雀跃。逮到机会就去用吧,学习英语并没有那么难,让我们一起启程。
